Holistic Nutrient Management Workshop
With David Hardwick, Soil Land Food
This workshop explores nutrients and farming/grazing. The workshop uses an interactive role play activity to cover the basics of how nutrients cycle on your farm. We also look at the key steps to managing nutrients holistically and economically.
The day covers:
- Understanding nutrients and how they cycle
- Why soil biology is essential for nutrient management
- The Nutrient Cycling Capacity of your soil
- The 5 Nutrient Buckets Model for thinking about and managing soil nutrients
- Using soil tests and field diagnosis for assessing nutrients
- Nutrient management: the 5 Steps to success
- The main strategies for managing nutrients and soil fertility
